Partner-in-Charge, Health Care Services Division

As Partner-in-Charge of the Health Care Services Division, Jim oversees Meyers Brothers Kalicka’s accounting and consulting activities for physicians practices, dental practices and other health care organizations. His Health Care Services Division has extensive experience in performing practice valuations and facilitating practice mergers and spin-offs. Jim, a Certified Public Accountant, assists practitioners with managed care contracts, employment contracts, compensation agreements, buy-in and buy-out agreements, practice revenue enhancement, financial management and other practice management issues. Jim and his Health Care Services team also consult with medical practices on regulatory compliance. Jim’s clients range in size from solo practitioners to multi-specialty clinics.

Jim has been a speaker to organizations of physicians and medical practice administrators on various topics relating to the business aspects of health care practices. Jim also writes articles on practice management issues that regularly appear in health care industry publications.

Jim also has many years of experience serving small to medium sized, closely held companies and financial institutions, including manufacturing, wholesale distribution, machine shop and personal service. He has given testimony in litigation involving business valuation and damages in contract violation, patent infringement, divorce and insurance claims proceedings.

Jim is a 1973 graduate of the University of Massachusetts School of Business Administration. He joined Meyers Brothers & Adeletti in 1977, after completing four years of service with the international public accounting firm Coopers & Lybrand, and became a partner in 1983. Jim belongs to the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants, Massachusetts and Connecticut Chapters of the Medical Group Management Association, Massachusetts Medical Society's Qualified Network of Attorneys and Consultants, National CPA Health Care Advisors Association and Healthcare Financial Management Association. He is a Notary Public for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

When Jim’s not at work, he spends his time fishing, hunting, camping and riding his motorcycle.
